LISTENING OPTIONS:
There are several ways to enjoy VexationAudio.
First, there is the option to stream episodes or download them to your PC. With any posting of a show you’ll see in the post entry a blue button with an arrow. Click on the arrow and allow the file time to buffer; once it’s done it will start automatically. Let’s test this now:
Most sites that host streaming audio will have an audio player like this one and it’s the most obvious way to listen to audio content. But you’ll notice at the bottom right of the player there is also the option to download. This is the second way to listen to VexationAudio. Clicking on the download option will save the file to your computer’s hard drive for you to listen later, or for you to transfer to another device, like a portable mp3 player.
LISTEN VIA iTUNES:
iTunes is largely responsible for the explosion of podcasts across the web. It is designed to work with an iPod and gives you access to hundreds of thousands of podcasts. VexationAudio is available via iTunes; just click the iTunes logo in the site banner.
In the case of particular shows, such as Nova Star Hunters and Not The BBC, these are included in the VexationAudio main feed but they are also available seperately. It’s really easy to subscribe to particular shows, and the process is exactly the same. Wherever you see the iTunes logo next to a show clicking it will take you to the show specific iTunes entry.
FEED READERS:
An option that allows you to listen but also stay up to date – without even having to visit the VexationAudio website! – is our RSS Feed. RSS feeds work with Feed Readers which periodically check RSS feeds for updates. To get started with RSS you’ll first need to choose a reader; here’s a list of popular feed readers About.com/FeedReaders
Once you’ve chosen your reader simply click the orange RSS icon in the site banner to add the VexationAudio RSS feed to your reader.
Again, each show produced by VexationAudio is included in the main feed, but they all have their own feeds too! Just look for the RSS icon next to the category of show you’re interested in – clicking will take you to the RSS feed for that particular show.
THAT’S IT?!
What, you want more options? Blimey…well, okay you can follow us via Facebook or Twitter by clicking the relevant icons in the follow tab (top right corner of the screen). We can’t guarantee that social networks will allow us to steam our content through them but wherever possible we’ll try to do so. Social networks are a great way to recieve updates about new content though, so even if we can’t stream that content directly, you’ll at least know when to revisit the VexationAudio website.
Finally, there is the option in the follow tab to receive updates via email; just click the envelope and fill in the Feedburner subscription form that pops up.
